Insects are found throughout the world and are relatively small compared to some of the world’s other inhabitants. Insects make up more than half of all living things in the world. There are an estimated 10 quintillion insects in the world.

There are 1.5 million known species of insects. More are being discovered every day. It’s believed there are a total of 25 million species.

Did you know insects have no bones? Their skeletons, called exoskeletons, are found on the outside of their bodies.

Fun Fact: Insects eat more plants than all OTHER ANIMALS on earth and are a major food source for many other animals.
